A base rsx has the k20a3, k20a is the type r, k20a2 is the 02-04 type s, k20z1 is the 05-06 type s.

  The Type R k20a is pure JDM….it comes with stronger crank, rods, entire bottom end is stronger then any other k series..my car red lines at 9000 rpms! The k20a2 is similar as is the z1…but they do not have as big of ports, valves and throttle body as the k20a therfore they red lind at 7500!! K20a also has more aggressive vtec lobes…the jdm k20a type R is hands down the best motor you could ever swap into any honda…excluding the s2000….I swapped the a3 out because it doesn’t have real vtec and was only making 160 whp…the k20a comes stock with 210 and ready to boost the fuck out of lol
